Raul Alejandro Olasio , also known as Ruiz, was born January 10, 1993. He is also known as Rauw Alejandro. He is referred to as the "King of Contemporary Reggaeton",[2][3He is part of "the younger generation" of Puerto Rican urban musicians. His debut album Afrodisiaco was released in November 2020. The album he followed with his second studio album Vice Versa was released in June 2021, included the lead single "Todo de Ti". From twelve nominations, he has received two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Ruiz the Latin Grammy Award winner was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on January 10, 1993. He was also raised in Canovanas, and Carolina. [4][5] His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz played guitar and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his back-up vocalist. They introduced him to the music of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. Alejandro and his dad lived for many years in the United States. They mainly resided in New York City and Miami. [7][8] Alejandro and fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA are childhood friends; they each attended the same school and attended classes together. When they were children, Alejandro competed in school talent shows due to an interest in dancing. When he graduated from high school, he was accepted at University of Puerto Rico. He was a soccer player between six and twenty. But , he resigned after stating that he couldn't be as effective as he had hoped. Then he moved to Orlando to try to be scouted by the Premier Development League (PDL). Rauw Alejandro's musical style is Latin R&B and reggaeton. Also, he enjoys rhythmic pop and ballads. Billboard claimed that his music "set his music distinct" from the growing group of Reggaetoneros with a pop-leaning. He was first influenced by Presley and Jackson, and later by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, as well as Chris Brown. [24He also credits Ciara for his musical inspiration.
